Популярный музыкальный журнал Rolling Stone три года назад опубликовал список 500 песен, которые объявлены лучшими для всех времен и народов. Взыскательное жюри из 172-х музыкантов, поэтов и исполнителей немало потрудилось, чтобы подготовить эту подборку песенной классики. В состав жюри вошли Джони Митчелл, Элвис Костелло, Арт Гарфанкел, основатель компании Motown Records Берри Горди и икона Тяжелого Металла Оззи Осборн. На первом месте рейтинга песня Боба Дилана Like a Roling Stone, в честь которой и был назван журнал, основанный в Нью-Йорке в 1967 году. В редакционном комментарии к рейтингу говорится, что эта песня как никакая другая изменила законы коммерции и художественные стандарты своего времени. Про "500 величайших альбомов..." - Откровения меломана

Наткнулся в интернете на "Список из 500 величайших альбомов всех времён по версии журнала Rolling Stone" (Rolling Stone's definitive list of the 500 greatest albums of all time).

Ну что я хочу сказать после внимательного изучения?

Студийных альбомов в этом списке, т.е. альбомов в привычном нам понимании, всего 460. 30 строчек занимают сборники лучших вещей (всевозможные Greatest Hits и The Best Of), а также саундтреки и просто абстрактные сборники из песен разных групп, а 10 - концертники, то бишь те же бестники, только исполненные живьём на концертах. Создаётся впечатление, что для красивой цифры 500 авторам не хватило студийных альбомов и пришлось затыкать дыры абы чем сборниками и концертниками. Учитывая, что ни один альбом таких культовых исполнителей, как ABBA, DURAN DURAN, ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA, GENESIS, JEAN-MICHEL JARRE, MIKE OLDFIELD, OZZY OSBOURNE, STING, SUPERTRAMP, SUZANNE VEGA, THE KLF, YELLO, вообще не попал в список, я склонен думать, что либо составители были ангажированы какой-то звукозаписывающей компанией, либо у тех, кто принимал участие в голосовании, очень скудный музыкальный кругозор.

Среди представленных в списке 460 альбомов, около 330 оказались совершенно мне не знакомыми. А вот интересно, кто-нибудь из моих читателей слышал все 460? Что-то у меня большие сомнения на этот счёт. А если сомнения не у меня одного, то как альбом, о котором знают несколько человек в такой меломанской стране, как Россия, мог вообще оказаться в списке величайших?

Расположение многих альбомов меня просто-таки убило. Например, битловский Сержант Пеппер оказался на первом месте. Даже если бы пришлось выбирать из альбомов The Beatles, то на первое место я бы поставил Белый или Abbey Road, но никак не Сержанта. Кроме того, Rubber Soul и Revolver оказались выше Белого альбома. Это для меня совершенно необъяснимо. То же самое и с U2. С какой-то стати The Joshua Tree оказался на 27-ом месте в то время, как гораздо более мощный по всем статьям Achtung Baby задвинули на 63-е. Но самое смешное, что мой САМЫЙ ЛЮБИМЫЙ альбом Zooropa вообще не попал в список, т.е. по мнению голосующих он оказался намного хуже War и Boy. Такая же беда и с Def Leppard. Совершенно скучный Hysteria оказался на 464-ой строчке в то время как красивейший от первой до последней композиции Pyromania вообще не вошёл в 500-ку. Чёрный альбом Metallica по мнению "Rolling Stone" хуже Master of Puppets (255-ое и 167-ое место, соответственно), а мой любимейший Ride the Lightning здесь даже не упоминается.

Но есть и приятные моменты. Например, присутствие в 500-ке (с 500-го по 101-ое место) таких альбомов как:Cat Stevens "Tea for the Tillerman".Crosby, Stills and Nash,Depeche Mode "Violator",Dire Straits "Brothers in Arms",Eurythmics "Touch",George Michael "Faith",Madonna "Ray of Light",Pink Floyd "Wish You Were Here",Portishead "Dummy",Queen "A Night at the Opera",The Rolling Stones "Aftermath".

Что касается первой сотни, то среди прочих туда вошли такие альбомы как Pink Floyd "The Wall" (87), Stevie Wonder "Songs in the Key of Life" (57), Pink Floyd "The Dark Side of the Moon" (43) и Fleetwood Mac "Rumours" (26). Пожалуй, Rumours - это единственный альбом, который находится на положенном ему месте (на мой взгляд), и это единственная строчка в этом бесконечном списке, к которой у меня нет ни малейших претензий. А вообще, я могу только догадываться, по какой обкурке или пьяной оргии лавочке выбирались и расставлялись все эти альбомы журналом Rolling Stone.

Только не стоит предлагать мне самому составить и опубликовать свои 500 величайших альбомов всех времён. А то ведь я могу заморочиться и наглухо выпасть из ЖЖ на пару-тройку месяцев:)
